Feel healthy at home- thoughts of natural oils for home use

A few weeks ago when I was watching BBC two, I came across a program called” Grow your own Drug”. It is so amazing to see James Wong turns magic in the kitchen. Ethnobotanist James Wong helps you tap into the ancient healing powers of plants to alleviate modern ailments. Its easy-to-make recipes help people to relief pain or other body problems. What I learned from this program is the recipes for cosmetic use, it is nice to make your own lip balm or bath bomb with your familiar herbs, flowers and plants

Inspired by his program, I look through my aromatherapy book and smell a lot during my work at Flora Holland to learn more about herbs, plants and flowers. I could not resist to try out next time for my ping living home fragrance some new oils.

The first one comes into my mind is the white sweet clove (meliltus alba). They have lovely flowers, basically you can use everything from this plants (the flowers, the leaf and its roots). How wonderful. The essential oil is to purify the body. The flower can be used as tea, the rest can be cooked and use for medical reasons.

The second oil comes into my mind is Violet (viola odorata). It has lovely lilac color flowers. The flower has a bit of sweet flavor and it can be used to eat in the salad or desserts. The leaves can be used for the medical treatment to calm. Basically the whole plant can be used for medical treatment. It will be so ideal to mix with lavender and apple blossoms to have a soothing herbal remedy. It will be hopeful to bring peace and tranquility, lust and love to our life.

The last oil that come into my mind will be fig. It contain vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, calcium, iron, phosphorus, manganese, sodium, potassium and chlorine. {Source}. Learn that there are many interesting fragrance which people like such as Hermès Un Jardin en Méditerranée: Citrusy fig with a heavy cedar undertone, created by Jean Claude Ellena. L’Artisan Premier Figuier Extrême: Soft fig on a sandalwood base with light florals. Very nicely done. The regular version, Premier Figuier, is drier, greener, and without floral notes. Like Philosykos, it was created by Olivia Giacobetti and Parfums di Nicolai Fig Tea: This is more of a light, fruity, slightly herbal tea scent, with a lovely osmanthus note and just a bit of fig. {source: Now Smell This }
