Hope you all enjoyed reading “Delft Blue accessories – a touch of Holland or Chinese” from my blog article yesterday. I had such a good time writing it. Each article costs me minimum 1.5 – 2 hours. It all started from getting ideas across from my mind to my finger tip, gathering right images to fit with my articles, getting great images done the way I want for specific articles, it all costs a lot of time and energy. But I really love to do it. From deep of my heart, I am kind of fall in love with it.
It is a place where I can share my aesthetic views with everyone who has similar interests; it is a place where I can encourage people like me who like to try out new things and make the life a bit more colorful than it is; it is a place where people can stop by any time and get inspired and leave for something else; it is a place where people feel to relax, just like to have a cup of tea to feel a bit “Zen”.
Many times some friends ask me “what are you doing?” , “Can you make a living from blogging?”, “Why do you put all your designs for textile on the blog, you should be careful not to share too much information out there. It is good to protect yourself and not let others steal your ideas”. I know my friends want to protect me and give me some valuable tips what I should do in this changing world, everyone seems not trust everyone in a certain way. But I think the knowledge needs to be shared. Without sharing the knowledge, the knowledge just die out. If everyone keep the ideas for themselves only, we will never be able to read any books, because the authors are too busy thinking about protect their own thoughts. Luckily there are many people around this world are thinking about sharing and giving.
Write this blog is also an inspiration for me. It is what I love and enjoy doing. I am so encouraged when I see the number of visitors to our blog growing every month. It started only one person (me) plus (John), increases to 165 person for the first month, till 1000 in the fourth month the blog was in the air. (I did not do any promotion actually, occasionally I gave comments on my facebook), it just grows by itself or maybe some magic is going on here. I know that compare to the big commercial blog site, the number means nothing. But it means a lot to me, it is a little world or space I try to create to cherish. And it works. It will grow more and more. I Just need to write a lot good articles and try to work on the content. I smiled when my friends Esther told me that she likes the style of my blog today during the lunch in Zeedijk, I giggled when I met some friends in the party they greeting to me with nice comments about my blog and my ping living work. I was touched when some clients from ping living called me from overseas about their exciting findings of ping living blog. I was very excited to know someone read spent 2 hours reading 77 blog pages. I love to blog because it also gives me more energy and inspirations for my design on ping living collection.
So conclusion, follow your dreams and follow your heart. We will make every day a bit better than yesterday. If we continue to do it, by the end of the year, we will get a gift/reward from ourselves, because everything you worked on are thousands and thousands times better than the day it was started.
